Steady Ground – Printed Edition
A Mindful Workbook for Real-Life Days
When life keeps asking more of you, give yourself somewhere to set it down.
The bills still need attention. People still need you. The news keeps coming, your mind keeps running, and finding time for yourself can feel like another task on an already crowded list.
Steady Ground was created for those real-life days. This 23-page workbook from MC Integrative Wellness combines guided writing, practical exercises, daily check-ins, mindful coloring, and crosswords to help you pause, acknowledge what you’re carrying, and choose a manageable next step.
You can begin with the challenge that needs your attention most. There’s no requirement to work through every page in order.
Start by naming what feels heavy
The “What Am I Carrying?” check-in invites you to identify current pressures—from caregiving and housing concerns to exhaustion, relationship strain, and uncertainty. Rate how heavy things feel, notice how that weight shows up in your body, and identify the support you need.
Create a small daily space for yourself
The repeatable “Ten Quiet Minutes” practice offers five minutes in the morning and five in the evening. Begin with a breathing exercise, notice tension, choose an intention, and decide what can be “good enough.” At night, reflect on what went okay, what you’re setting down, and tomorrow’s one priority.
Explore eight everyday challenges with specific practices
Overwhelm and burnout: Use a timed brain dump to get your responsibilities onto paper, identify what truly needs attention within 48 hours, and choose one small first step.
Money stress and rising costs: Organize upcoming bills, amounts, and due dates. Identify what you can address or ask about, then plan one practical request for help.
Loneliness and disconnection: Map your close relationships, friendly connections, and community spaces. Choose one person or place to reach toward and write what you’ll say.
News and social media overload: Reflect on how scrolling affects your mood, choose a seven-day screen boundary, and track the days you keep it.
Grief and loss: Make space to acknowledge a person, relationship, opportunity, home, or expected future you’re grieving. Remember what matters and write what you wish you could say.
Uncertainty and change: Sort what you can control, what you can influence, and what you can set aside for today. Try the 5-4-3-2-1 sensory grounding practice.
Boundaries and people-pleasing: Recognize where you say yes when you mean no. Use sample phrases to prepare a clear boundary and consider how you’ll care for yourself afterward.
Rest and sleep: Explore a body-based relaxation exercise, create a wind-down routine, and track your bedtime, wake time, and sense of rest across a week.
Choose a different kind of pause when words feel difficult
Three mandala coloring pages offer gentle invitations to slow down, soften, and recognize your growth. Two mindfulness-themed crosswords, with word banks and an answer key, give you another way to spend a quiet moment with the workbook.
Turn reflection into a realistic plan
The Gentle Goals page helps you choose up to three priorities—or just one. Develop one through the SMART Goal Plan, identifying what you want to change, how you’ll recognize progress, and what fits your current time and energy.
You’ll also find a courage exercise, a repeatable weekly reflection and habit tracker, and space to leave a supportive note for your future self.
Steady Ground is for you if you want practical self-care that acknowledges your responsibilities, your limited energy, and the challenges you’re facing.
Keep it nearby for a morning check-in, an evening reflection, a coloring break, or a moment when you need to sort through what comes next.
Start with the page you need today. Small and steady counts.
