What’s Holding You Back? — Volume One
Name your fears. Meet them with compassion. Move anyway.
What have you been putting off because you’re afraid of what might happen if you try?
Sharing your gifts. Setting a boundary. Starting something meaningful. Choosing a different direction. Sometimes you know what you want, yet find yourself waiting until you feel more confident, more prepared, or less concerned about what others will think.
What’s Holding You Back? gives you a structured place to explore that hesitation. This 24-page guided workbook from MC Integrative Wellness helps you name the fears influencing your choices, reflect on where they began, and plan small, intentional actions toward something that matters to you.
Through five parts, you’ll move from understanding your fear to practicing a different response—with room for honesty, compassion, and your own pace.
Part One: Where It Comes From
Explore the experiences and responsibilities you’ve been carrying, including family expectations, difficult relationships, burnout, and financial pressure. The My Fear Timeline exercise helps you trace beliefs across different seasons of your life and notice recurring patterns.
In Weight I Was Never Meant to Hold, separate your responsibilities from expectations you’ve absorbed from others. A mind-body check-in invites you to notice where fear shows up physically and consider what care you need in those moments.
Part Two: The Four Fears
Rate how strongly four fears are showing up in your life, then explore each through focused questions:
Fear of being seen: Where are you hiding your voice, work, or gifts because you anticipate judgment?
Fear of outgrowing your circle: Are you holding yourself back because you’re concerned about how growth could affect your relationships?
Fear of failing and proving others right: Whose doubt are you carrying, and what has it stopped you from trying?
Fear of choosing yourself: Where have your needs been postponed, and what has that cost you?
Each section includes an encouraging statement to return to as you reflect.
Part Three: Let’s Reframe
Examine what your fear says, what it may be trying to protect you from, and what possibilities you want to explore. The Rewrite the Story worksheet gives you space to put an old belief beside a new perspective you want to practice.
Part Four: Compassion, Not Fixing
Practice the Compassion Pause, combining a moment of awareness, slow breathing, and supportive self-talk. Write a letter to your fear, acknowledging its protective intention while expressing what you’re choosing now.
You’ll also receive a written guided practice of approximately 10 minutes, using breathing, body awareness, and visualization. Read it slowly or record yourself reading it. An accompanying reflection page lets you compare your own fear ratings before and afterward and capture what you noticed.
Part Five: Move Anyway
Create a Brave Step Plan for one meaningful action within the next 48 hours. Decide when you’ll act, what could interfere, how you’ll respond, and who can support you.
Continue with a 7-Day Brave Step Tracker, a Support Circle exercise, and a 30-day progress tracker with weekly reflections. A Letter From Future Me invites you to imagine what you’d like to tell yourself six months from now.
This workbook is for you if fear of judgment, disappointing others, failure, or prioritizing yourself keeps interrupting the choices you want to make.
You’ll have specific questions to answer, space to recognize patterns, and practical pages for planning your next step. Take one part per sitting, pause when needed, and return whenever you want to revisit what you’ve learned.
Give the thing you keep postponing your thoughtful attention. Begin with one honest answer and one manageable step.
